Interview: Seth Olshfski on The Darkness II

January 25, 2012 in Featured, Games, Interviews

The Darkness is one of my favourite comics of all time. Not for the story or the violence, but more the way it constantly evolves with new artists and writers. The games are evolving, too. At a recent Insert Coin(s) event (pics here) I had a chance to chat with The Darkness II’s producer, Seth Olshfski. We talked about the game, his career and pet hates. Click over for the full interview. Read the rest of this entry →

Event: Insert Coin(s) presents: The Darkness II

January 22, 2012 in Events, Featured, Games

The boys at Insert Coin(s) know how to put on a party! This wasn’t just some new footage for The Darkness II; these guys throw arcade machines, a Milk bar, a DJ, heaps of booze and live art into the mix. The result? Utter chaos. Within 15 minutes you could barely move. After a few hours there wasn’t a spare spot to stand. rawDLC fought through the crowd to get a closer look. Read the rest of this entry →

For those that may not listen to our podcast (shame on you), rawDLC is excited for Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning. Live Show: rawDLC is back… a bit later

January 16, 2012 in Featured

Stop the press! We recently reported that we’d be back on the 24th of January but, as would fate would have it, our projected return date wasn’t entirely accurate. Granted, it was at the time I wrote up the post, but then a press trip came along, and we were going to be a man down. Normally, this doesn’t matter, but we wanted our first show back to be with the uber-trio. Read the rest of this entry →

Weekend Opinion: Best game of 2002

January 14, 2012 in Featured, Weekend Opinion

Games have come a long way in 10 years. Back then, the industry didn’t have the power it does today, and if you look back it may make you smirk. In 2002, PC gaming was a big deal, consolers had the PS2, Xbox and GameCube to pick from, and the only good handheld was the Game Boy Advance. So now, 10 years on, it’s time to jump on Google and find what you loved playing in 2002. Read the rest of this entry →

Opinion: Josh’s best films of 2011

January 11, 2012 in Entertainment, Featured, Film, Opinion

We’re all about individuality at rawDLC, and with three very different people behind its awesomeness, we often have differing opinions; such as our respective choices of the top films of 2011. Nachos was first out the gate (see it here) and has produced some stellar picks of last year’s films. However, seeing as this is a personal list, our choices are vastly different. Check my list after the jump. Read the rest of this entry →

Live Show: rawDLC is back… soon

January 9, 2012 in Featured

The year is young and yet we’ve still had a few questions as to when you’ll be able to see our glorious live faces again. As a man who believes in getting to the point, I’m not going to waste your time with mindless preamble that doesn’t get down to the nitty gritty of just giving you the damn date. Or will I? Uh oh, looks like you’ll have to make the jump to see the date. Read the rest of this entry →
