Video: Get a bounty-full look at Batman: Arkham Origins

Bat-fans have a lot to be excited about this week. First off, Kevin Conroy started dropping hints of his role in another Arkham based game, though he will not be in Batman: Arkham Origins. Then, this glorious CG trailer dropped showing Bats kicking all kinds of arse.

While CG trailers are hardly anything to get over-hyped about, as gamers have had their hearts broken before, *cough cough* Killzone, the look and tone is in keeping with original franchise developer Rocksteady’s vision and I have to admit, I’m pretty amped about Batman: Arkham Origins.

Looks like Gotham’s criminal element is giving The Dark Knight “Just Cause”

I was really hoping for a look at Joker’s origins as Red Hood. We’ll have to wait and see

Batman was a huge fan of Assassin’s Creed and played it every change he could

I’ll reserve judgement until I see gameplay or get a hands-on, likely to be in the next few weeks with E3 just around the corner. Until then, this trailer and the above accompanying screens will keep me going, and salivating.

Fan films are nothing new when it comes to gaming, but over the past few years enterprising YouTubers such as Freddie W have upped the ante and taken production values to a whole new level. Corridor Digital works in the same vein and has really made its mark of late.

Utilising great special effects, parkour parlour tricks and inventive camera techniques these guys have produced some outstanding tributes to classic video games as you’ll see embedded below. Recently they seem quite taken with Ubisoft with their antics including some spectacular Far Cry 3 and Blood Dragon inspired offerings (also embedded below).

With Splinter Cell; Blacklist only a few months away the franchise fan favourite multiplayer mode Spies versus Mercenaries gets the Digital Corridor touch and man oh man do these guys deliver.

I’ll admit it. I am a UFO nut. Naturally, the XCOM series has been a big part of my life as long as I can remember. As the off shoot project The Bureau: XCOM Declassified nears completion, it is time to see if the end result can rise above its rocky development history.

Understandably, it’s hard not to be a little wary of this third person shooter. It has been a long time in the works and each snippet we get our eyeballs onto offers a different look. However, a new trailer dropped yesterday and it has me beyond excited. Give it a squiz!
