Weekend Opinion: Favourite Forgotten Games

August 20, 2011 in Featured, Opinion

That right DLC fans, the Weekend Opinion is back! Every Saturday I will be dropping a comment inducing juggernaut for site regulars to flex their gaming muscles and throw in their two cents worth. This week, in honour of I Am Alive, the long thought dead title now brought back to life, I invite gamers to dig deep, way back through their memories, shattering the space-time continuum and find a title that piqued their interest and then promptly disappeared off the gaming map never to resurface again. To get this party started, I’ll kick off with my pick Killing Day. Read the rest of this entry →

Video: I Am Alive teaser trailer

August 20, 2011 in Featured, Video

Most people will be completely unaware of the interesting history to this trailer, mainly because this game was been long thought to be abandoned. I Am Alive first appeared in 2008 with a CG trailer depicting a man being chased through a destroyed city for a bottle of water. Though I’ve seen better looking games, the concept at least has potential for brilliance. Out of nowhere a new trailer has found its way onto the net, now showing gameplay. My verdict? This looks like hidden gem to me. Take time out to have a look at this diamond in the rough. Read the rest of this entry →

Interview: Paul Feig on Bridesmaids

June 17, 2011 in Entertainment, Featured, Film, Interviews

From the trailer, Bridesmaids did not jump out as a laugh-out-loud film. However, Rotten Tomatoes has it listed at an impressive 89%, which means the critics adore it, and everyone that has seen it is singing its praises. So I decided to check it out. The verdict is that the film is brilliant and deserves all the positive press it has been getting. So when CineFOOLS offered me a chance to sit down and pick the brain of the film’s director, Paul Feig (The Office, Freaks and Geeks), I pretty much  jumped at the opportunity. Video Interview: Randy Pitchford on Duke Nukem Forever

May 12, 2011 in Featured, Games, Interviews, Live Show, PC/Mac, PS3, Video, Xbox 360

As often delayed as it has been, Duke Nukem Forever is fast approaching and although it’s a weird feeling to finally say this out loud, this time it’s for real. The Duke is back and he’s bringing with him not only cigars and beer, but a whole lot of blood, girls and offensive content. The buzz is big. So big that even the casual gamer is raising an eyebrow on this one. Each reliving lost memories of pressing a button to see 2D boobies and tittering like school girls. Duke is to gamers what Elvis is to music lovers, an icon. So, with the launch almost upon us, 2K decided to host an event and they did it ‘Duke style’. Read the rest of this entry →

Interview: Nathan Davis on Dungeon Siege III

April 20, 2011 in Featured, Games, Interviews

Dungeon Siege III may not be high on your list of must buy games, but as far as hack-and-slashers go this may be it’s evolution into this next-gen world we live in. Even though this kind of game has been relegated to hand-held’s and downloadable sources, its appeal is still marketable and fans of games from Golden Axe to Diablo still wait and hope for someone to take this style and give it some 21st century loving. Well, Obsidian heard your cries and have taken popular franchise Dungeon Siege and rebooted into a seriously bad-ass slasher. We managed to wrangle some time from Obsidian and get some answers about their intriguing new project. Read the rest of this entry →

Video: New 10min gameplay trailer for Bioshock Infinite!

September 23, 2010 in Featured, Games, Video

Some of our regular DLC-Live viewers will remember our discussion section a few shows back (Episode 8) about the first teaser trailer for Bioshock Infinite. Some of you also may remember (in the usual Josh fashion) I was a little underwhelmed by what seemed to be a new setting for another Bioshock revival. Well, just like with Mafia II, 2K delivers an amazing example of why I should have more faith in them. If you haven’t seen this trailer yet, find a quiet place, take 10 minutes off and watch what I’m calling the best trailer so far this year! Read the rest of this entry →

WTF: Joab does Portal 2… 80′s style!

September 15, 2010 in Featured

As promised on the show we have attached both the original and the “Joabified” remix of the new Portal 2 co-op trailer. For those that weren’t watching the Live show (shame on you!), the first is a great new trailer giving you a tease on what the co-op experience will be like in Portal 2 (with their tongue  in cheek humour still intact). The lower video is a mash up done by the GA Podcast’s very own Joab using the original trailer and the theme song from the 80′s TV show Perfect Strangers… Watch and enjoy!

Weekend Opinion: Best weapon in gaming

September 11, 2010 in Featured, Weekend Opinion

Due to popular demand we’re bringing back the weekend opinion section, kicking off with what do you think the greatest weapon introduced into the gaming world is. We’ll monitor comments to keep the discussion going, but when the weekend ends, so does this. The point of this column is to give everyone a chance to openly discuss their love of gaming and comment on your favorite parts gaming culture, and maybe even change a few peoples minds while you’re at it. We expect a (reasonably) civil tone and if you want to argue, you must have valid counterpoints attached or your post will be removed. Read the rest of this entry →
