Top five Nintendo games to port over to the 3DS
Having spent some time this weekend playing the absolutely bananas (bazinga!) Donkey Kong Country Returns 3D on the 3DS, my mind has begun to ponder over some of the other titles I would love to see get the 3D treatment. Here are my top five picks.
As a fan of racing games with a break-neck pace, F-Zero GX is one of the most intense experiences I have ever faced. This disturbingly hair-trigger game required every ounce of focus you could muster. Winning often had me leaping off the couch in excitement like a football fan on game night. Just take a moment and imagine what it would be like in 3D. The camera would set down the track in the centre of the screen, creating a wicked tunnel effect.
Oh man, with the 3DS’ Circle Pro add-on, it would be an truly mind-blowing trip on a handheld console. The first-person shooter elements would look incredible on the 3D screen, bringing more depth to the exciting action and visceral gameplay. Plus, if the graphics get enhanced a little further and add some WiFi multiplayer, I could see this being one of those ‘must have’ 3DS titles. This needs to happen.
Though Nintendo has already released Metal Gear Solid: Snake Eater on the 3DS, I want to see the Nintendo exclusive, Metal Gear Solid: Twin Snakes. I know that I ‘m technically talking about a remaking of a remake, but Twin Snakes incorporated all of the best aspects of the original Metal Gear Solid, upgraded. Things like the FPS camera for aiming would be really cool in 3D and boss battles against the likes of Sniper Wolf would be even more tense.
2 – Conker’s Bad Fur Day (Nintendo 64)
Rude, crude and bat-shit insane Conker’s Bad Fur Day is one of the few cult titles deserving of the hype. The jokes and moments of parody are biting and even though realistically it will probably never happen, I’m sure I’m not the only one desperate to see it get a re-release on the 3DS. If nothing else just to remind the world of its awesomeness.
No console is ever really truly complete without a killer snowboarding game. 1080 Snowboarding is still a blast with really user friendly pick up and play controls. As it stands, it would probably need a HD make over and some new content to make it viable, but this is one title I would literally line up to get my hands on.
So there you are! These are the titles I’d love to see updated for the 3DS, but what about you? Are there some titles you want to see get a handheld makeover?
