During his recent Sydney visit we had the chance to chew the fat with Tomb Raider’s Art Director Brian Horton. We talked about the reinvention of the iconic Lara Croft, the dramatically darker tone and found out just how hands on Brian’s contribution was to her reimagining.
An accomplished artist in his own right, Brian Horton’s artwork has graced numerous Buffy and Angel comic book properties so he’s no stranger to strong female characters. His own portfolio reflects these sensibilities with sexual not sexualised overtones. He was instrumental in helping reshape Lara into the survivor she is now and delivers insights into the more gritty and grounded direction the series is headed in.
