Preview: The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings

Being a non PC gamer (for the moment) I had no idea what the hell The Witcher was, let alone that it garnered a sequel last year and is now in the process of coming to Xbox360. In a few short weeks this solid action based RPG will hit but is it worth your time? It sure is! With an expansive story, bad-arse lead and super-cool combat The Witcher 2 is looking the goods.

Geralt - Witcher Linebacker... Wooooooooooo!

But don’t take my word for it… actually, do! Check out this excerpt from my preview.

“The attack options and depth I sampled were a smooth mesh of the diversity available in The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim and the fluidity of Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning combined. While you can invest in both swordplay and magic independently, for the best experience you’ll need to rely on both and it did make for some super fun combat. You can lay elaborate magical traps down for a sneaky surprise, cast protection spells to boost defence, set enemies on fire, enrage them so they go berserk on one another but my favourite by far was the kinetic blast which I affectionately nicknamed “skidoosh”. This pearler of an attack jolts anyone backwards it hits. It’s particularly useful (and awesome) on ledges, castle battlements and anywhere else with a discerning drop. Just equip the spell and send them in a graceful arc to their death. Poetry.”
