Video: Dave’s 2011 picks from the Trailer Park

As 2011 draws to a close I figured I’d do something a little different with the Trailer Park. It totally has nothing to do with the lack of new video content released this week (fo’ realz). Below is a selection of videos that got me excited, made me giggle like a Japanese schoolgirl or represented a classic rawDLC moment. As you’re smashing yourself into 2012 take a look back at Dave’s hits of 2011.

I’ll kick off with a dusty little featurette back when we just started adding video content. Here’s the awesome Activision Call of Duty: Black Ops launch event as the manliest man to ever grace the planet, Lt Col Hank Keirsey, puts rawDLC through their paces. I know technically it’s not 2011, but it’s my picks… wanna fight about it?

Keeping the Call of Duty vibe going it’s hard to go past this kick-arse launch trailer for Modern Warfare 3 with Sam Worthington and Jonah Hill illustrating the chasm of difference between veteran players and n00bs or as I like to think of it… Nachos vs Dave

No surprise that this announcement trailer gave me an erection the size of a small country. Next year will bring with it Borderlands 2 and hopefully it will wash out the bad taste Rage left in our mouths. If that sounds disturbingly sexual, good, it was meant to

Now it’s time for a little throwback. Red Faction: Armageddon brought with it one of the most surprising mash-ups when THQ took inspiration from A-Ha’s Take On Me… the rest is pure poetry

Leaving 80s anthems in the rear view I have to pour out a little liquor for the title that broke my heart in 2011. A combination of bad marketing and miscommunication, Brink should have been THE first-person shooter of the year. Instead, it faded quietly into the night. Sigh

Looking towards early 2012 one of my favourite titles of all time gets a solid reboot and is sure to destroy my life, just as its predecessors did. Get tricky with SSX

Last, but certainly not least, this is a favourite of the Holy Trinity here at rawDLC as we break down our guilty pleasure games and kind of lose it a little bit in the process

These vids are by no means the greatest or most viewed but the ones that stayed with me all year long.

I’d like to say thanks to all of our loyal viewers of the Studio 33 video content, podcast listeners and the ever present DLC-Crew. We couldn’t do this without you guys and we look forward to wowing you with what we have in store for 2012. Happy New Year!
