Review: Shadow of the Colossus HD

Shadow of the Colossus is a true gem of last generation gaming. Much like its predecessor Ico the premise is simple with gameplay the real challenge. Trying to resurrect his lost love, Wander must combat sixteen colossi for a mysterious deity as payment for her soul’s restoration. With each behemoth a puzzle to be solved and defeated Wander sure has his work cut out for him.

Just a little higher, just a little higher...

In another beautiful offering from Team Ico, Shadow of the Colossus is a magnificent and memorable journey.

“It’s nigh impossible to shake that David versus Goliath feeling in each battle. There are sixteen gigantic colossi of various shapes and sizes, each representing a living, moving puzzle that needs to be deciphered as you navigate along, find their weak spots and strike with your sword. You’re given a handy commando roll to quickly get out of the way of some truly “colossal” attacks (you’re welcome Joaby), a stamina meter that shows how long you can hold on to these monoliths and a bow and arrow, vital for grabbing their attention or for targeting sensitive areas, allowing you to pounce while they’re distracted.”
