I’m not ashamed to admit, I’m a sucker for a Tom Cruise action flick with the Mission: Impossible series extremely solid except for its crazy numbering system that jumps from the original directly to number three with no sign of a second film. Long time animation maestro Brad Bird takes over directing duties from J.J. Abrams and shows he’s got the chops to handle a Hollywood blockbuster.

What does this new outing have in store for action junkies?

How about a little nuclear heatwave in a throwback to the popular theme of blockbusters of the 1990s.

“After a mysterious explosion decimates The Kremlin, Ethan Hunt and the IMF find themselves scapegoats for the international incident with the entire agency disavowed. Out in the cold with no support on the trail of a madman with designs of a worldwide nuclear holocaust, Ethan and his crack crew are all that stands in the way of this imminent threat.”
