Review: Uncharted 3: Drake’s Deception

It’s been a long time coming and the wait is finally over. Showered with accolades and almost unanimous high scores barring a few questionable exceptions, the third installment of Naughty Dog’s cinematic gaming juggernaut is almost upon us. Does it live up to the hype? How well will it fare in this bumper crop of releases? Valid questions, just click on the jump and get the lowdown.

Drake imitating the now famous "Nachos" brand running and gunning

This is one of the most exhilarating experiences I’ve had with my clothes on and an amazing achievement across the board, sure to be leaving you with many questions in the journey’s final moments.

“As all sequels (or three-quels) should, this third outing significantly raises the stakes and is by far the most personal. It’s all about Nathan and Sully, how they met (which is playable), what their agendas are and the nature of their relationship. At various times, your comrades will question Drake’s motives and ask him if it’s all worth it in the end. The game isn’t asking you to make any definitive decision on the matter, but it does leave you pondering if killing several thousand henchmen over the years and unearthing lost treasures and cities was actually worth it in the end?”
