Raw Interview: Jason DeLong on The Run

Need for Speed: The Run, the latest title in the long-racing series, is scheduled to hit Aussie shores on the 17th of November. I recently sat down with Jason DeLong, executive producer at EA Black Box, and picked his brain about all things Need for Speed. Instead of transcribing or cutting it, I’ve uploaded the full interview, from the moment I started recording until the end of the interview.

As if you needed any further motivation to speed

So what is a Raw Interview? It’s a 1:1 audio recording of an interview with a developer: unedited, unashamed, undeniably raw. Usually these files are transcribed and cut into relevant pieces or published in full. But even if the full transcription is published somewhere–online, in print, on your fridge–it still loses the all-important tone factor. Developers laugh, they get upset and they get passionate about what they’re talking about. This is nigh impossible to capture in text alone, so we give it to you in full. In this Need for Speed: The Run interview, I turn on the audio recorder while we’re joking about Australia’s convict history. Whether you want to know more about the specific title–Need for Speed: The Run, in this instance–or the interview process, Raw Interviews will be of interest to you.
