Show: Red Faction: Armageddon review – Live from Studio 33

As true champions of the underdog the chaps from DLC-Live add another title to their protected list, Red Faction: Armageddon. Coming straight out of Studio 33 Nathan, Josh and Dave wreck shop, kick arse and take names in defense of Mars’ trouble magnet family, the Masons. As developer Volition Inc casts aside the open world mold for a significantly more linear experience, the guys muse over the new weaponry (with the Magnet Gun a favourite), the loss of adversarial multiplayer and the end game bonus of the devastating, laser shooting unicorn Mr Toots.

Picking up where the ostrich hammer left off, Mr Toots is a hoot and a half and almost worth a second playthrough to harness his awesome methane driven laser. Critique gives way to hilarity as Toots leaves his mark on both the franchise and this review as the boys have a laugh at a developer that doesn’t take itself too seriously.
