News: Last batch of Mass Effect 2 DLC “arrives” end of March

Considering the Xbox360 version of Mass Effect 2 launched over a year ago, BioWare is doing a pretty decent job keeping it at the forefront of gamers’ minds. Now that the dust has settled after the PS3 launch and all platforms have had a chance to take it out for a spin, BioWare has one more trick up its sleeve. This final piece of DLC, called Arrival, will help bridge the gap between Mass Effect 2 and 3 and also bring back a sci-fi veteran actor to the fold. On top of all that it gives us an excuse to throw a sexy Yvonne Strahovski pic up on the site for your viewing pleasure.

In their own words… “All year, we have been extremely honored and humbled by the reception we have received for Mass Effect 2 from players around the world, including our post release DLC”, said Casey Hudson, Executive Producer, Mass Effect series. “Mass Effect: Arrival is an exciting extension to Mass Effect 2 and will show players just how close the Reapers are to returning and completing their deadly harvest.”

In Mass Effect: Arrival, Commander Shepard is sent to the edge of the galaxy to rescue an undercover operative who may have evidence of an imminent Reaper invasion that has been looming since the very beginning of the series. Returning and playing a prominent role in Mass Effect: Arrival is fan favourite Admiral Hackett, who is voiced by legendary science-fiction actor Lance Henriksen (Alien, Terminator).

Available on the 30th of March, the DLC will set you back 560 Microsoft Points, $11.45 on the PlayStation Network or 560 BioWare Points on Steam, whatever the hell they are. Marking the end of new content for Mass Effect 2 the title is set to go out with a bang and leave us all slobbering in anticipation for Mass Effect 3’s release and the end of the year.
