Review: Kill a whole planet’s worth of space Nazis in Killzone 3

Let me be frank for a moment. I’ve never been a huge fan of the Killzone franchise. I never played the original and the second only held my interest till about the halfway point, then I saw something shiny and got distracted. When footage started rolling out for Killzone 3 though, I got excited. Maybe it’s the new FPS love I’ve found, maybe it was the sexy graphics, maybe it was the fact that Helghast kinda look like Nazis and my Jewish heritage screamed for a little payback. Whatever the reason, it remained high on my radar and I couldn’t wait to take it for a spin.

Let me just say that for a change, a title lived up to the hype.

“Though a tad short coming in at around 6 hours, Killzone 3 is an exhilarating thrill ride, gloriously presented with a solid control scheme behind it. The minor let downs were a few audio sync issues, the occasional stutter and the incredibly crap afterthought of vertical split-screen local co-op only, which boggles the mind. It could have been the ultimate co-op campaign, but instead feels extremely tacked on at the last minute.”
