Screens: Put your detective skills under the microscope in L.A.

There’s little doubt that the locally developed Rockstar Games’ L.A. Noire is shaping up to be something very special indeed, offering gamers what titles like Heavy Rain promised but failed to deliver, an immersive, realistic, story driven experience. With unprecedented facial capture, solid acting performances, and a mature plot, it’s already got a lot going for it, add the fact that Sydney based Team Bondi are behind it, and you’re looking at something that may put local developers on the map. To whet your appetites once more, Rockstar has released a handful of screens giving you a peek of what’s in store.

As one of Los Angeles’ finest, you’ll need to detect shit, so you’ll start by giving a recently deceased a once over.

Follow up, by hitting the crime scene for clues and interviewing witnesses. You’ll need to be thorough to rise up the ranks of the LAPD.

Then take suspects down and get them photographed and ready for a line up.

It’s up to you to police the mean streets of L.A. but be careful round those back alleys (giggedy!), you never know what’s around the corner.

I like the way this is shaping up, and considering how close we are to the developers, there’s a possibility there’ll be some exclusive local event in the near future. We’ll keep you posted.

I can’t wait to play it, I also love how this time you’re the law and not some god damn gangster or law breaker. But, is this game going to be open world like GTA or is it going to be like mafia?
