News: Nathan Drake returns in a deceptively titled third outing

Though there’s not much on the release schedule till year’s end, developers and distributors alike are using this down time to flood the gaming news streams with announcements and teaser trailers. We all knew it was only a matter of time, and now Sony Computer Entertainment Australia has confirmed the next chapter in the Uncharted franchise, shockingly titled Uncharted 3: Drake’s Deception. This time around Naughty Dog is taking Drake and his partner in crime, Sully into the desert in search of the fabled “Atlantis of the Sands.”

As he uncovers the route to this long lost city, Drake will have to tackle a new an mysterious occult, and its fanatical leader. Naughty Dog is promising the same atmospheric and cinematic set pieces, new hand-to-hand combat moves, including the ability to engage multiple enemies at once, contextual melee and the usual awesome action.

Though the below trailer reveals very little of what’s to come, it’s still enough to get to get your motor running into overdrive at the thought of a brand new Drake outing, and gives PlayStation 3 owners one more exclusive reason to tell Xbox360 fanboys to suck it. True story.

We’d like to give thanks to those brilliant guys over at Pixel Enemy for posting the trailer, thus giving us the opportunity to re-embed it. Gracias!
