News: DeathSpank sequel “Thongs of Virtue” out end Sept!!!!!

Just when you thought it was safe to retire the purple thong of justice and shack up with that feisty Taco Wench, heroism calls! Will you accept the charges? Time to re-equip those mighty budgie smugglers, nestle them firmly in your arse crack and dispense truth and justice as a hero to the downtrodden in a whole new setting. Yeeeeeepppp! DeathSpank is back, bigger and better than ever. It’s a whole new ball game, with sexy shiny weapons, super-duper powers and a more modern playground… with all the trademark “Spank-tastic” touches you know and love.

As the ending of the original DeathSpank hinted (check out our brilliant review here), after defeating the dastardly Lord Von Prong, our hero ended up in a very unusual place, a battlefield littered with down Allied aircraft and grizzled soldiers pleading for his unique talents to help win the day. I had been hoping for a sequel, but damn, that was quick!

Though Ron Gilbert is not associated this time around,  the overall tone and feel should remain intact when DeathSpank: Thongs of Virtue hits both XBLA and PSN networks on September 22nd.

As the above screen suggests, this will envelope all modern warfare settings, rife with WWII and Vietnam references, and a more bullet-ridden arsenal at your disposal. Apparently there were several other mighty thongs created, six to be precise, and it’s up to the spankiest champion around to locate them all and bring order to chaos. Boasting a larger sandbox and around 50% more missions it looks like we’ll all be getting the bonus plan come September’s end.

DeathSpank: Thongs of Virtue will set you back $19.95 on PSN or 1200 Microsoft Points, and after loving every second of the first outing, I can’t recommend it highly enough.

Justice will be served!!!!
