News: Spidey Shattered Dimensions just got a bit more legend-ary

Once it’s lifted off the pages from whence it came, most superhero based fare is, well, shite. Comic book aficionados, such as myself, cringe at every offering, as developers and movie studios rape our childhood memories. One of the few shining lights was the criminally under-appreciated Spiderman: The New Animated Series released in 2003 on MTV, with Neil Patrick Harris voicing your friendly neighbourhood arachnid, and lightning is about to strike twice with Activision announcing he’ll be reprising his role in the upcoming Spiderman: Shattered Dimensions.

We’ve got a lotta love for NPH here at DLC (no homo), from waaaaay back to the days of Doogie Howser, to his token white guy in Undercover Brother, his brilliant roles in the Harold and Kumar franchise, his vapid villainousness (yeah…it’s a word) in Dr Horrible’s Sing-a-long Blog, the staunch keeper of ‘The Bro Code’ in How I Met Your Mother and, of course his wonderfully understated performance in the aforementioned Spiderman: The New Animated Series. The guy’s got skills. His portrayal of Peter Parker in the series was perfection and we expect this to be a walk in the park for him as he slips back into his shoes.

More so, the look of Spiderman: Shattered Dimensions and style bears a strong resemblance to the series (which was years ahead of its competition), so it should be a match made in heaven, and a weird sense of deja vu. Now if they could only get Ian Ziering to play Hobgoblin, now THAT would be something!

For your viewing pleasure I’ve thrown in below a picture of NPH hard at work on the set of How I Met Your Mother… what a guy!
